Practice: Native Traffic to Dating

We were very glad to receive this case, as it was written by one of our readers. He watched our practice-oriented workshops on working with native traffic and decided to launch several campaigns on his own. Below you can find the results that he got. Now we give the floor to the author.

Campaign time period: 25.04.2019 – 02.05.2019
GEO: FR
Ad network: TrafficStars
Affiliate network: ProfitSocial
Spent: $64
Earned: $90.41
ROI: 26.41%

I have never driven traffic to dating offers before and worked only with Wap-Click. However, after watching the first and the second part of the workshop (the workshop was held in Russian). I decided to give it a try.  I had the following work plan:

1. Examine the market situation.
2. Customize the tracker.
3. Generate clicks and get rid of teasers with a low CTR.
4. Generate conversions.
5. Scale up.

Step 1. Examining the market situation:

First of all, I had to choose a country. I could either check out what are the top geos in ProfitSocial or ask the affiliate manager. I contacted the affiliate manager and chose France.

There are lots of spy tools to analyze what is performing well on certain platforms, but I did everything manually and set up a VPN browser extension (you can use Touch VPN or Hola Free VPN Proxy Unblocker for this purpose).

Then you should select a country from which you are driving traffic in your VPN extension, go to a website and find out what is performing well there.

These are the top ads on m.xhamster.com:

Step 2. Customizing the tracker:

You can use any tracker to your liking. I decided to drive traffic directly, as the data from TrafficStars was more than sufficient.

And don’t forget to change macros, otherwise you will face the same situation as I did. I must confess I forgot about it.

Step 3. Generate clicks and get rid of teasers with a low CTR:

During the first campaign, I opted for the minimum bid.

I used the same text for all of the images, but the images were different. I analyzed what images have the highest CTR under equal conditions, i.e. the equal number of impressions and clicks per teaser:

As regards the img300X250 campaign, images there can be without any text.

Examples of creatives that didn’t perform well:

This format, on the contrary, converted really well:

Why do you see three links there? In TrafficStars you can rotate several links, with pre-landers or without them, for instance, which is very convenient.

Step 4. Generate conversions:

After you have generated some conversions you have to wait for three days. Why for three days? The thing is that you should gather the stats.

Then you can start optimizing the campaign, adding something new, abandoning the redundant stuff and so on.

Overall, there is always something that can be improved and enhanced.

Huge profit to all of you!
