As we all know, a good affiliate trusts only two things: tests and numbers, because they don’t lie.

We’ve gathered some stats and numbers about affiliate marketing.


First things first. Affiliate marketing is an ever-growing industry. Since 2015, revenue from affiliate marketing programs has been growing by 10% annually. The projections are that this impressive trend is going to continue at least until 2021.

The power of well-presented affiliate links can be illustrated best with some hard numbers from 2017. That year users clicked on affiliate ads more than 5 billion times and the affiliate marketing networks carried out more than 170 million transactions worldwide.

The average affiliate conversion rate is around 1%. This is an estimate, and so it may vary. However, because of the competition, affiliates who reach 2-3% conversion rate keep their secrets well, and we don’t blame them for that.

In 2019, affiliate marketing will celebrate its 30th birthday. This is rather impressive, especially taking into account that 30 years ago it was an industry represented by only one company. Now it is estimated to be worth 12 billion dollars. Impressive, right?
