Google Ads tutorial on using optimization score

On July 23, Google Ads published a step-by-step video tutorial on its YouTube channel explaining the optimization score feature and how to use it to implement a Target CPA bidding strategy.

Optimization score is an estimate ranging from 0 to 100 that shows how well your Google Ads account is set up to perform. The feature was designed to help advertisers better understand their account optimization potential and enable them to work smarter and focus on opportunities to scale up.

Optimization score is made up of multiple sections providing optimization tips and recommendations for each specific campaign. Note that the score is calculated in real-time based on statistics, settings, and your account’s status and performance.

As has already been mentioned, along with your account’s score, you’ll see available optimization recommendations broken down by category. The tutorial places a special emphasis on explaining how to implement a Target CPA bidding strategy through the Recommendations page.

So, if you wish to enhance your campaigns’ performance by implementing Google Ads smart bidding strategies and relying on unique recommendations provided by the platform, be sure to check out this Google Ads tutorial.
